With a private preview on 3 May and reception on Saturday 5 May, Hidden Charms presented work by both young and established artists from Vietnam and China in a variety of media. From Vietnam, water colours on rice paper, water colours on silk, gouache and lacquer on cheesecloth, were shown alongside the more traditional lacquer on wood, as well as some oils on canvas. Also a series of charming ink and water colour paintings on rice paper, mounted on silk, by a group of artists from Xian in China. |
